Kitties Everywhere!!

Over the weekend we met the wonderful Lucy from Humanimal Connection. She has been working with the organization for a few years now, has adopted five cats of her own and dedicates a lot of her time and love to help the kitties under their care. With over 57 cats, it can be overwhelming to take care of them all but with the help of volunteers they are able to keep the kitties in good spirits as they wait for their families to find them.

Humanimal Connection has been around since 1998, it is a no-kill, not-for-profit cat rescue that runs solely on the power of its volunteers. They do not have their own shelter, but they are able to house their rescues with the help of generous pet stores: the San Mateo Pet Supply and the local Petco.

 

Reasons to adopt from Humanimal:

• They take care of neutering/spaying & microchipping for all of their cats.
• Opportunity to save a life and give these kitties a chance at a forever home.

Nick and I had a great time talking to Lucy and playing with the cats. They have all sorts of furry, fluffy & fabulous felines to choose from: kittens, adults, special needs, barn cats... Even though they are treated well, it does not mean that they should stay at the rescue. Living in a cage without a human to call their own is the only life that they know. All living beings deserve a family, love, a lap to snuggle on- we all naturally crave the need to belong with a family that loves us.

Our interaction with the cats was an amazing experience! They were all so friendly when we walked up to their cages and several kitties rushed over to greet us as we walked into the Meow House and the Cat Connection rooms. They do a great job in socializing these cats and for the experienced pet owners, they have some kitties that need some gentle coaxing ^_^
