Winter Warmth

Hello Fabulous friends,

Fall is here and soon enough we will all be reminded on how chilly it can get! (and how desperately we wish for those summer days to come sooner) We were thinking about Fall, the holidays, snow, etc. and was reminded of an entry we've read on the Be the Change for Animals website.

With the winter season coming up, we wanted to let everyone know about a great way to get rid of old blankets, towels, pet beds, pet toys... Instead of throwing those items away, donate them to your local animal shelter!

Black Cats & Halloween Superstitions

Depending on where you are in the world, black cats can be considered bad luck or good luck. Growing up in California, superstitions have influenced us to believe that a black cat crossing your path was a sign of bad luck. This belief doesn't strictly apply to California. Movies and television shows portray these ebony colored felines as creatures of the night, pairing them with halloween, witchcraft, demons and the list goes on to associating them with being symbols of evil.

Yup, pretty scary.
Halloween decor is not complete until you have the traditional arched-backed, hissing black cat on your lawn.  While doing a quick Google search on “Halloween black cat décor,” it yielded a result from the Oriental Trading Company with the items' decription: “Send chills down your guest's spine with spooktacular black cat decor.”
To that I say, What a Shame.

October is National Adopt a Shelter Dog Month!

We were excited to find out that this month is dedicated to shelter dogs to find homes! Thank you to the American Humane Association for promoting awareness for all the beautiful dogs waiting to be adopted.

If only we could adopt a dog :( Definitely once we move into a house where our dog can have enough space to run or just lay around. We want to make sure we are ready for the responsibility and will be able to provide him/her with all the love, care and joy we can provide.
