Whew! It has a been a busy few weeks, and more to come with Thanksgiving & Christmas! I hope you will all forgive us for not being able to keep up.
On that note, we attempted to start our Christmas shopping last weekend in Los Altos. We visited a European Lifestyle store called Maria's. The store is filled with fun antiques, dinnerware, bedding from France, England & Italy. We did not end up purchasing anything but did speak with the wonderful owner. Her two dogs, a Terrier and a white dog (perhaps a Maltese) were barking in Italian, greeting all who approached them as they guarded the cash register.
As we said hello to the pups, we noticed a flyer for an "Animal Arts" Craft Faire, sponsored by Petco. The Faire, which will be held at the HSSV Animal Community Center on December 4 & December 5 will include: crafts from dozens of vendors, an opportunity to have your pet's photo taken with "Santa Paws", tasty holiday treats to be enjoyed and more! The owner was raving about HSSV (Humane Society of Silicon Valley), saying that it was the most beautiful shelter she's ever been to. We haven't been yet, but looking at their site- it really does look spectacular!
On top of adoption opportunities, HSSV services include: an award winning Doggie Daycare, exceptional Grooming, an environmentally friendly Dog Park (with separate areas for small & large dogs), Behavior & Training classes for hamsters to dogs, and a whole lot more! This shelter seems like it has so much to offer and I think it would be a great place to see for yourself to meet that special Furry, Fluffy & Fabulous addition to your family.
